When you come in for your appointment, you might hear the term intraoral camera. An intraoral camera is a tiny camera that is not much bigger than an ink pen and is used to photograph hard to reach areas in your mouth. Digital x-rays are important, but they don't always provide the entire picture. The dentist can examine your teeth and mouth in close detail when using an intraoral camera.
Our dentists and hygienists will use this camera to closely examine your mouth. We are then able to see your pictures on the screen and review them with you while you are in the dental chair. We feel it is helpful for you to see what the dentist sees when he is diagnosing areas of concern.
