Dr. Terry Bawcom grew up in west Texas and graduated from Monahans High School. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. He and his wife, Connie, chose Abilene to begin his dental career in 1968. They have been blessed with four married children and six grandchildren. He serves as an Elder at Abilene Bible Church where he and Connie are active members. He enjoys golf, travel, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Community service has always been important to Dr. Bawcom. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hendrick Medical Center, district chairman of the Chisolm Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America, charter member of Leadership Abilene, president and founding member of the Breakfast Exchange Club, board member of the Abilene Rotary Club, and member of the Abilene Philharmonic Association Board. He is a member of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and the Military Affairs Committee.
Dr. Bawcom is a member of the Seventeenth District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. In his 40+ years of practice, he has attended over 2,500 hours of continuing education including the Center for Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Bawcom is happy to have Dr. Finley as his partner. This partnership is the perfect blend of experience and new techniques. Dr. Bawcom is still passionate about dentistry and plans to practice for many more years!
Dr. Chance Finley was born in Abilene to Kent and Carla Wright Finley who both attended high school here. He graduated from Midland Lee High School and from McMurry University. He continued his education at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2006. He was also awarded the Clinical Excellence Award. Dr. Finley joined the practice of Dr. Bawcom as an associate immediately upon graduation from dental school. On January 1, 2009, Dr. Finley and Dr. Bawcom became partners in their dental practice.
Dr. Finley’s goal upon graduating from dental school was always to return to Abilene to begin his career and his family. He and his wife, Kristi, are enjoying their two children, a daughter, Payton, and a son, Lance. They are active members of Beltway Park Baptist Church. His hobbies are hunting, fishing and golf.
Dr. Finley is a member of the Seventeenth District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He has completed the Center for Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry course at Baylor College of Dentistry. He is excited to be certified to treat patients who wear dentures and partials with mini dental implants. Dr. Finley always welcomes new patients to his practice!
